After their successful demonstration in public, the Dynamix were beginning their rise to fame. The past week has been pretty successful as far as public appearances and such. There was a bit of chaos sewn when TrickShot revealed his actual name on live TV, but nothing that could not be spun in the right direction.
The team was then given a special covert mission for the Department of Defense. A few terrorist cells were collecting nuclear material to use against innocent targets in the U.S. And other areas, and the military was eager to try out this new super hero program they had invested in. So the Dynamics were recruited to go incognito into dangerous territory and take care of one of these cells.
They were sent on a plane to the target area and on the way came up with hip, new covert codenames. When the time came to jump, things were going okay, but Splice, er Venym, strayed way off course. Luckily they were able to regroup fast, just in time to take out a small scouting party.
They made their way to the terrorists base camp and scouted it out. Seeing that everything appeared okay, they attacked expecting an easy fight. Then the mech showed up. Some terrorist got his hands on some sort of robotic suit and used it against the team. It vented radioactive materials, and Shui, um Panda, began to lose control of her powers becoming more fluid and lumpy.
Still, the team fought on and the extra terrorists, save for the resilient Burka Bertha, fell fast. During the melee, a jeep loaded with barrels tried to escape, but Byte, I mean Nybbles, shut it down. TrickShot, sigh NightKnife, tried to take out the driver, but missed and hit an explosive detonating the whole thing. Nuclear waste sprayed all over and reacted poorly with the team. Apparently, the process that gave them their powers reacts strangely to some isotope in some radioactive materials.
Regardless, they fought the mech and hurt it so much, the pilot ejected and got away. After everyone else was defeated, they helped who they could and went back to base camp. Debriefing was short and sweet, and all went well. Although they wished one guy had not gotten away, especially one guy that saw them use their powers, it was still a victory and the free world was safe from disaster. For now.
